The Molla Nǝsrǝddin Cartoon Archive, 1906-1918, includes approximately 2,000 cartoons from the early twentieth-century Azerbaijani satirical magazine Molla Nǝsrǝddin. These twelve years comprised the period of the magazine’s independence from excessive political interference and censorship, whether Tsarist or Soviet, during which its editors and artists were able to range widely over themes and aim a pointed finger wherever it was deserved.
